The Crosstown Bus - Brighton, MA

CrosstownBus3.jpg - 78.69 K
This is the building that housed the Crosstown Bus club. The club was on the top floor on the left side. I don't remember it being the whole floor but maybe the length of the left four windows. The windows today are replacement windows. The top window on the left side of the building that is closest to the street used to be a door that led to a fire escape since removed. Back in the day we would go outside for a minute to get some air on a hot summer night.

The posters say the club was at 331 Washington Street
but the entrance was here at this archway.

Clear Light

A story in the #58 2021 issue of Ugly Things magazine on Clear Light, a notable 60s group, revealed that they were booked at the Crosstown Bus on August 25 and 26 of 1967. They state that the show was cancelled at the last moment by the Fire Department. The group did play during that visit in the Boston Common with Earth Opera and later had some shows at the Boston Tea Party.
